During an intimate gathering at Live House in Hollywood on Feb. 19, Robin Thicke stood on top of a piano and let the entire room know that “anything is possible.” The “Magic” singer danced his way across a stage set in the center, surrounded by upwards of a dozen instrumentalists, treating guests to an all-out jam session. The crowd was packed in so close that they were essentially dancing with Thicke. Songs included “Rock With You,” “Let’s Stay Together,” “Lost Without U,” and “Blurred Lines.”
The invite-only, top-secret event, was hosted by Jammcard. Known as the LinkedIn for musicians, the app brings professionals together for special live curated shows. Off of the success of their original content and beloved JammJams, the Los Angeles-founded company has now expanded into other cities, such as Atlanta and Nashville. Jammcard has also been credited with bringing together live bands for artists including Gwen Stefani, Zedd, Maren Morris, and more.
Past JammJams have seen acts like Ty Dolla $ign take the stage, while attendees spotted, range everywhere from Josh Dun of Twenty One Pilots to Dweezil Zappa. Tuesday night’s event followed suit, bringing in an all-star lineup of professional musicians both on stage, and in the crowd. Keyboardists, percussionists, horn players, guitarists, bass players, and vocalists took turns jamming in a circle, while invited guests enveloped them, almost as if, they too, were part of the performance.
